If you are currently taking driving lessons in Hampstead, you might be wondering where the local DSA test centre is for taking your car practical driving test when you get to the required standard.
There is no test centre in the NW3 london area, and most of the learner drivers from MI driving school hampstead travel to either Hendon NW9 or Mill Hill NW7 about 6 miles away for their car practical tests (average waiting times for these centres are 10-16 weeks). If you need a shorter waiting time, you can use either Borehamwood or Barnet test centres, but be warned these are even further away, and it can take up to 45 minutes to drive to during busy times or rush hour traffic.
Both of the recommended test centres have dual carriageways (A1 and A41 up to 70MPH) on their routes, as well as multiple lane roundabouts so you need to thoroughly get used to handling these conditions before thinking of meeting the dsa examiner, so do take advice from our experienced instructors during your preparation lessons.
Our instructor is familiar with both drivng test centres, as well as the routes you might be taken on, so once you are near the required standard your lessons will be conducted around these areas. Please note due to the distance from Hampstead, NW3 of the routes that will be encountered, it is recommended that you book 2 hour driving lessons in order to have adequate time to get there, get some good practise and return home.
To book your driving test, it is best to do it online via the DSA Website, as the national phone line on 0300 200 1122 is usually very busy and could take longer to use especially if you are trying to change an existing appointment.
